At Heritage Veterinary Hospital, our goal is to ensure that all of our patients receive the highest quality of care. That includes access to the latest in diagnostic tools and technology. Veterinary diagnostics, such as blood work and x-rays, allow our team to get a glimpse at what’s happening inside your pet’s body. This provides for a faster, more accurate diagnosis and allows us to develop and implement the most timely and effective treatment plans. We are pleased to offer a number of high quality diagnostic services, from routine lab work to advanced imaging techniques, to help us stay on top of the ongoing health of our patients.
Radiology is a valuable diagnostic tool that allows our doctors to examine and evaluate the inner workings of your pet’s body. X-rays can be extremely helpful in diagnosing a broad range of medical conditions and injuries that cannot always be detected on the surface of the skin, such as fractures or tumors. At Heritage Veterinary Hospital, we use x-ray imaging to examine the bones, heart, lungs, abdomen and other areas of the body. Images are evaluated by our experienced veterinarians, and can also be sent to specialists for further analysis if needed.
Ultrasound imaging allows us to get a good look at your pet’s internal organs without the need for surgery or other invasive procedures. This technique uses sound waves which bounce off the targeted area and return images that can be evaluated by our trained staff. Ultrasound is especially helpful in assessing the health and function of the heart and other organs, and identifying conditions that need to be addressed. Images can be instantly analyzed by our doctors, or they can be sent electronically for review by a specialist, if necessary.
We want to keep your pet’s heart beating healthy and strong throughout the course of his or her lifetime. Our cardiology services help us to assess heart function and identify certain conditions, such as arrhythmias, which require ongoing monitoring.
Our hospital is outfitted with a modern diagnostic lab, in which we have the ability to run a wide variety of tests. The ability to test in-house means faster, more accurate results, which can mean a better prognosis for your pet. In many cases, we can have the answers we need before you and your pet even leave our office. The sooner we can get to the bottom of the problem, the better the chances of a positive outcome.
Our professional diagnostic services are available to all patients. If you suspect your companion may be suffering from an illness or injury, give us a call or text – we can help!
